Family Time Putt Putt Golfing

Sooo, today we decided to try to do one more thing as a family before school starts next week.  Karl thought it would be fun to take the boys out miniature golfing.  Well, things didn’t go exactly as planned.  It was about 89 degrees and muggy, which is my hubby’s favorite type of weather (not really).  Justin had stayed overnight at a friends’ house the night before and he was a total crabby patty.  He also lost two balls somewhere along the way, he was really happy about that.  Brendan just took his ball and put it about two inches away from the hole and tried to putt it in from there.  He also tried climbing every rock on the course.  Jordan was the only one that had fun and the only one to have a hole in one!  Way to go Jordan!  I did get a few pics, you can see the excitement on everyone’s face.  Gotta love spending $30 when everyone just wants to get home 🙂

Scentsy Party

My sister-in-law asked if I would like to co-host a Scentsy Party with her and, of course, I said yes!  We had a fun time last night thanks to our fun consultant, Jennifer.  We are leaving the party open until the middle of September.  Feel free to click on the link below if you weren’t able to come last night and check out their great product.  Thanks to all who did come, it was great seeing you all!

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad

I’m a day late, but happy anniversary to my mom and dad.  It would also have been my grandparents anniversary, September 1.  My parents have been married for 39 years already, where does the time go?  To celebrate their 39 years, I thought I’d throw up a few great pics from their wedding, because we all know I’m into vintage 🙂  And I’ll put a few of my grandparents up too, for fun.  Because not only did they get married on the same day, my mom wore the same dress that my grandmother wore.  I wanted to wear it for mine, but I’m about seven inches taller than either one of them and let’s be honest, the dress hasn’t fit me since I was ten.  Anyway, happy happy day to both of you.  Love you both and I thank God that He blessed me with such a Godly marriage to strive towards.

Peach Freezer Jam

Along with peach pie, I made a batch of peach freezer jam.  It was a sticky, sweet, sugary mess, but worth it in the end.  I used Certo (liquid pectin) instead of Sure Jell this time and just followed the recipe and directions that came in the package.  Yummy!

Jake {Senior Session}

Ok, to say I had a hard time narrowing this sneak peek down would be an understatement. Jake is the son of a good friend of mine and I’ve been waiting excitedly to take his pics for some time. Thanks for hanging with me downtown for the evening, it was fun. And thanks for the lesson on the difference between a mural and graffiti 🙂 For the record, he is as sweet as he is handsome. Have a great senior year!

Owen {Newborn Session}

I was so excited to take pictures of baby Owen on his one week birthday. I was blessed to be able to photograph his parents wedding a couple years ago, and one week ago little Owen was born. Thanks Jessica and Aaron for having me over this weekend to meet your new gift from God. Congrats!

Peach Pie Yumminess

Mmmm…nothing like fresh peach pie.  Actually, fresh peaches.  Period.  Peaches are my favorite fruit to buy fresh in season and make as much as I can out of them.  I love peach jam, peach pie, peach tarts and just fresh peaches and sugar.  Unfortunately, they seem to be the messiest for me to deal with.  And all the blanching and peeling makes for a dirty, sticky kitchen when all is said and done.  But mmmmmmm, they sure are awesome!  So I don’t have a recipe for this pie.  I just throw it together every year during peach season.  The crust is just your typical pie crust.  I put the bottom in a pie pan and I roll out the top to make a pretty top.  You could also just put a normal pie top on.

Peach Pie Filling:

about 6 cups diced peaches

1 cup sugar

1/4 cup flour

1 T. lemon juice

2 T. cinnamon

Mix all together and pour into crust.  Top with top crust.  Bake at 375 for 45-50 minutes.  Enjoy!

Mike & Ashley {Engagement Session}

When we first stepped out of my van to start our photo session, it was pouring rain. But as we drove to our location, the sun came out and the rest of the night was beautiful. And other than almost getting carried away by the mosquitos, we had a great time! Mike and Ashley, I’m so excited to share in your special day next June. Love ♥

Wedding Themes: Purple

This year the dominant color I have seen at weddings is purple.  I’ve seen a lot of eggplant and really dark purple, also dusty purple and dark blue.  Enjoy a few purple themed pics today!

Eli {6 Months}

I was blessed to be able to take baby Eli’s newborn pictures almost six months ago.  Now he is back for his 6 month photo shoot!  I love this age, they can’t crawl away and are almost always smiling.  What a precious little guy!
