Jake {Senior Session}

Ok, to say I had a hard time narrowing this sneak peek down would be an understatement. Jake is the son of a good friend of mine and I’ve been waiting excitedly to take his pics for some time. Thanks for hanging with me downtown for the evening, it was fun. And thanks for the lesson on the difference between a mural and graffiti 🙂 For the record, he is as sweet as he is handsome. Have a great senior year!

Owen {Newborn Session}

I was so excited to take pictures of baby Owen on his one week birthday. I was blessed to be able to photograph his parents wedding a couple years ago, and one week ago little Owen was born. Thanks Jessica and Aaron for having me over this weekend to meet your new gift from God. Congrats!

Peach Pie Yumminess

Mmmm…nothing like fresh peach pie.  Actually, fresh peaches.  Period.  Peaches are my favorite fruit to buy fresh in season and make as much as I can out of them.  I love peach jam, peach pie, peach tarts and just fresh peaches and sugar.  Unfortunately, they seem to be the messiest for me to deal with.  And all the blanching and peeling makes for a dirty, sticky kitchen when all is said and done.  But mmmmmmm, they sure are awesome!  So I don’t have a recipe for this pie.  I just throw it together every year during peach season.  The crust is just your typical pie crust.  I put the bottom in a pie pan and I roll out the top to make a pretty top.  You could also just put a normal pie top on.

Peach Pie Filling:

about 6 cups diced peaches

1 cup sugar

1/4 cup flour

1 T. lemon juice

2 T. cinnamon

Mix all together and pour into crust.  Top with top crust.  Bake at 375 for 45-50 minutes.  Enjoy!

Mike & Ashley {Engagement Session}

When we first stepped out of my van to start our photo session, it was pouring rain. But as we drove to our location, the sun came out and the rest of the night was beautiful. And other than almost getting carried away by the mosquitos, we had a great time! Mike and Ashley, I’m so excited to share in your special day next June. Love ♥

Wedding Themes: Purple

This year the dominant color I have seen at weddings is purple.  I’ve seen a lot of eggplant and really dark purple, also dusty purple and dark blue.  Enjoy a few purple themed pics today!

Eli {6 Months}

I was blessed to be able to take baby Eli’s newborn pictures almost six months ago.  Now he is back for his 6 month photo shoot!  I love this age, they can’t crawl away and are almost always smiling.  What a precious little guy!

Grilled Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches

When I was growing up, my mom would make us grilled peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.  These are just like grilled cheese, but with pb & j.  And sometimes, we all just need a yummy comfort food to help us get through the day.  Mmmm….

Hudsonville Fair Fun

The Hudsonville Fair is running this week.  I grew up in Byron Center and never really went to the fair.  But once I married my husband, who is from Hudsonville, it became a yearly tradition.  My kids love it and I have to admit, so do I.  We have a routine every year.  We start in the animal barns and work our way through.  This year we saw the chickens, bunnies, goats and everything else.  I don’t think there is anything cuter than baby pygmy goats.  Sooooo cute!  We then walk over to the farm equipment and sit on all the big tires.  I take lots of pictures, always trying to get the “perfect” shot of my three boys together.  Then we work our way over to the food venders.  Obviously, my favorite part.  I love the elephant ears.  We went both Monday and Tuesday this week, and I have enjoyed three ears so far.  I’m hoping we make it out one more time yet.

But this year I get the award for mom of the year.  I not only took my three boys, but the two neighbor boys as well.  So it was me and five boys at the fair.  I know, you’re all jealous 🙂

Kristin & Phil {Wedding}

I don’t know where to begin…I have been eagerly waiting for this wedding for 18 months! I’ve known Kristin for almost ten years, I feel like she is my second little sister. And even though I know she is way too young, I call her mom, Marie, my second mother. I love them both and was so very honored to be asked to spend the day with them. Phil and Kristin, your love for each other is contagious. The best part is seeing you laugh together, smiling, loving. May God bless you both as you continue to grow in your love for each other. All my love ♥

A Day At The Park

Summer is winding down and I hate to say it, but I am ready.  Fall is my favorite season, the nights are getting cooler and the days much more tolerable.  Spent a few hours outside with the boys yesterday, they played and I read my book.  Last week my sister, mom and I took the kids to the local park to play and wear off some energy.  I only took along my small point-n-shoot camera, so the pics are less than great.  Oma wanted a pic with with all her grandkids, but that is near impossible.  But we had a good time, grabbed some McDonalds’s and had a picnic too.

I have a huge week of photo shoots.  Along with the wedding from this past weekend, I have four more shoots this week.  So be ready to see lots of fun stuff this week!
